Richard Mgrdechian is president and CEO of Purple Eagle Entertainment, and the creator and manager of America’s most patriotic rock band, Madison Rising.
Named in honor of James Madison – the 4th president of the United States and a key author of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights – Madison Rising is on a mission to reignite authentic American culture through great rock music.
Madison Rising is best known for its #1 best-selling rock rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, which, with over 6.5 million views on YouTube, has catapulted the band into the national spotlight, and created one of the most loyal fan bases in rock music history. The band – which has opened for rock legends Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steppenwolf, Kansas, Weezer, Slaughter, Toby Keith, Sugar Ray and others – has inspired people of all ages and has an especially strong following in the military and veterans communities.
Prior to creating Madison Rising, he held positions as a NASA engineer, a Wall Street investment banker specializing in corporate restructuring and turnarounds at the Blackstone Group and a high-tech CEO. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the prestigious California Institute of Technology (Caltech), along with an MBA from Columbia University in New York.
As president and CEO of Purple Eagle Entertainment, Mr. Mgrdechian is devoted to the development of new ways to rise above the noise of the current political discourse, and to entertain, educate and inspire Americans in a structured, meaningful and actionable way. He has invested nearly half-a-million dollars and five years of his time to get Madison Rising to where it is today.
Mr. Mgrdechian intends to make sure that Madison Rising remains a strong supporter of our men and women in uniform (with songs such as Soldiers of America and Walking Through That Door) and a strong supporter of American pride and exceptionalism though songs such as Open Road and American Dream. The band itself promotes the principles of liberty, independence, smaller government and personal responsibility, and their new album, American Hero RED has already hit #2 on the Amazon charts, eclipsed only by Springsteen’s multi-platinum Born In The USA.
Richard Mgrdechian: Entertain, educate and inspire.
